American Flagg (1st series.) ran for 50 issues - #1 October 1983 - #50 March 1988. American Flagg! is the story of Reuben Flagg, who is drafted into the Plexus Rangers and sent to the Chicago Plexmall to help uphold the hopelessly corrupt status quo. Because that's what the Plex wants. But what does the Plex care? They've moved their entire operation to Mars. America is falling apart at the seams; California vanished in the meltdown of 1996, and the Plex is selling off what's left of the U.S.A., state by state, to the highest bidder. But Flagg has his own concept of justice, and nothing will stand in his way. And along that way he manages to become chief ranger of the Chicago Plex, inherit a talking cat sidekick named Raul, and acquire a robotic deputy with a holographic head named Luther Ironheart. He even manages to hold the forces of corruption and entropy at bay for a time - until his ex-lover, Mandy Krieger, becomes mayor of Chicago. Story Title: There's No Place Like Home.
