Ian Serraillier - Born: 24th September 1912, london - Died: 28th November 1994 (82), Chichester. This is the exciting story of David, an eleven-year-old boy, and his Uncle Bill who set sail together in search of treasure.
An old explorer has left Uncle Bill some maps and information about the hidden treasure, and so they sail their forty-foot cutter, 'Winkle', to an island in the lonely South Atlantic. Gascar, a native of the island, tries to steal the maps - and from this point the tale is packed with adventures: a shipwreck, a kidnapping, a fight on the edge of a precipice. But will David and Uncle Bill succeed at last in finding the treasure?
